Specialising in African, Afro-Caribbean, Brasilian & Middle-Eastern Percussion.

 Obi has performed with numerous Jazz and "World" groups, both Live and in the studio. 
He has also produced 2 previous solo CDs:

Both of which received international airplay via college, NPR, and other radio stations that play"non-commercial" music..

Mr. Kaye's other credits include performances on "Summer of Wonderful" (a collection of songs by Elisabeth Jane, adult/contemporary), Live performances with Hands of Changó (African Folkloric drumming and dance with the late master drummer Oba Famie), Numerous Middle Eastern Dance troupes and individual dancers,  Obi's Funk n' Latin Jazz Project (Funk & Latin Jazz), George Wesley (reggae), Gary McCready (smooth Jazz) and much more.

He has performed at the Berks Jazz Fest, Yeungling/Schuylkill Summer Jazz Festival Pottsville PA), Musicfest (Bethlehem PA), Schuylkill's annual Unity Day Celebration and other music and Arts festivals.

As a clinician, Obi Produces numerous workshops and other programs (using drums as a tool for understanding) for all ages and environments. He has produced many programs for children and seniors alike in schools, institutions, and for many community groups.

Other services include Drumming workshops and clinics, with Obi Kaye, tailored specially for your needs and for any age. We provide clinics for children and adults, for elementery, middle and high school students as well as college and corporate programs. Shaved monkey (n, slang) a euphemism which refers to man. (plural; -eys): mankind, human beings. 

Origin:  from the term monkey or ape to mean; person, "basic" or simple, and even foolish or playful  person + the descriptive; shaved, or bald:  that factor which seperates man from other primates.

Other descriptives include one who "monkeys around", Monkey business and oh yeah, Monkey Love...
